| Guinness or other stout beer | 16 fl. oz. | |
| Water | 8 fl. oz. | |
| Knorr Demi-Glace mix | 1/2 cup | |
| Black pepper, coarse ground | 1 tsp. | |
| Brussel sprouts, shaved thin | 2 cups | |
| Bacon lardons (large chunks of crispy bacon) | 1 cup |
Preparation Instructions:
- Step 1
- Prepare mashed potatoes according to package instructions. Reserve hot.
- Step 2
- In a medium saucepan combine beer, water and demi-glace mix over medium heat. Whisk until smooth and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking constantly. Reduce heat and add black pepper. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes. Reserve warm for service.
- Step 3
- To serve, place mashed potatoes on a plate and garnish with stout gravy, shaved brussels sprouts and lardons.
